Senior Product Strategist

HUGE is looking for a Senior Product Strategist with research fundamentals to join our team. At HUGE, our Product Strategy group is a small, highly collaborative team that partners with HUGE’s design and development departments to define the right approach for our clients’ digital products. Our focus is broad, from developing long-term holistic digital strategies for our clients to creating website monetization, social media, or mobile strategies – plus everything in between. At HUGE, we have always believed in the value that user research brings to developing sound business and experience strategies and, ultimately, to finding the best design solutions.  We bake research into our discovery and design process so that every project is guided by what actual users need and want (that’s why we have 2 in-house usability testing labs!)
 
The Senior Product Strategist is both a proactive and reactive senior thought leader and collaborative member of the Product Strategy group who executes against large scale projects within interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess client business models, while understanding their implication on the user experience, to suggest improvements, alternatives, and additions to their revenue streams
  • Develop cohesive, compelling strategic visions for our clients that guide the design process based on a synthesis of client business needs, proprietary and third party research, analytics, user research and competitive analyses
  • Communicate strategic visions to our clients, and help them and their business development teams disperse the strategy to the greater organization
  • Collaborate closely with the HUGE Interaction Design and Visual Design teams to ensure business requirements are deeply integrated into the user experience
  • Participate in pitches and business development
  • Contribute to HUGE’s growing domain expertise and knowledge base through the development of first party research 
  • Conduct, moderate, and oversee user research across various projects
  • Collaborate with Designers and Strategists to set research goals and ensure quality research outputs and best-in-class designs
  • Oversee and mentor usability analysts
  • Analyze research data and synthesize into actionable briefs
  • Present research findings to internal team and/or clients
  • Attend, participate in, and present work at conferences
  • Work with Engagement Directors and Project Managers to quote, scope and plan research activities for new and existing engagements
  • Evangelize the value of user research internally and to potential clients
  • Develop and share archive of research methodologies and cross-project learning
  • Partner with research teams on the client side

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years managing product life cycles and/or go-to-market campaigns in a digital/interactive/mobile/web environment and hands-on experience with user research
  • Experience with various research methodologies and tools and a keen understanding of when to use which
  • Experience working with analytics platforms such as Omniture or Double Click
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams in high pressure situations
  • Demonstrated experience communicating broad strategic initiatives to key stakeholders
  • Willingness to simultaneously tackle multiple projects and challenges
  • Passion to rapidly build expertise on new businesses and industry verticals
  • Desire to create sustainable businesses and innovative user experiences for the largest brands on the web
  • Social and mobile expertise a plus
  • MBA preferred, but not required
