Huge Turns Brooklyn Inside Out
September 23, 2011 - BrooklynThis week, as part of the 2011 Dumbo Arts Festival, HUGE coordinated a local installation for the Inside Out Project, a global interactive street art project inspired by French artist and 2011 TED Prize winner JR. Dozens of HUGE employees, local business owners, and residents participated by pasting portraits of 99 Dumbo community members on the Chambers Paper building at 135 Plymouth St.
Throughout 2011, thousands of people around the world have become part of the Inside Out Project – the world's largest participatory global art project - by uploading photos to insideoutproject.net. The site, designed and built by HUGE for JR and TED, allows users to upload photos which will then be printed into 90cm x 135cm posters ready to be shipped back to them and exhibited within their community.
HUGE is proud to support both TED and JR as they get people active in their communities in a meaningful way and prove that art can indeed change the world.
The DUMBO Arts Festival runs through September 25th and is a local celebration of art, music and performance in Dumbo, Brooklyn.
