Voting Now Open for SXSW 2012 Huge-Suggested Panels

Voting has begun to select which panels will be featured during the SXSW Interactive Festival in 2012, including 10 potential presentation ideas from HUGE employees. Voting is conducted on the web using the SXSW PanelPicker interface.

Opportunities to vote for HUGE-suggested panels include:

Users NOT Customers: Learning from Startups. HUGE’s CEO Aaron Shapiro will run through the seven lessons businesses need to learn from the startup and Internet community in order to survive in a digitally driven economy. 

Everything You Love Is Ugly. HUGE Partner and Executive Creative Director Joe Stewart on the 10 things he wish he knew before he became a designer. Joe will reveal all of the things that he learned the hard way about the world of design, for one, that everything you love is ugly.

The Birth of the HUGE UX School. HUGE Partner, User Experience Michal Pasternak will discuss how HUGE tackled an industry-wide talent drought and built an unprecedented school to teach the basics of interaction design to some of the world’s best talent. 

2 Girls 1 App: Content Strategy & Design Talk Shop. HUGE Associate Content Strategy Director Erin Scime and Experience Director Jessica L'Esperance will explore how the collaboration between content and design can optimize the user experience for mobile, to ensure that products are both useful and usable. 

Make UX about SEX: Sustainable Elegant eXperiences. HUGE Senior Product Strategist Kelsey Schwenk and Associate User Experience Director Alex Weishaupl will examine how to balance user needs with business needs and how to use design to transform, rebuild, and re-architect ideas to be clear and enjoyable for the user. 

Taking Your Brand Back from Your Customers. HUGE Engagement Director Peter Wolfgang and Planning Director Virginia Alber-Glanstaetten will discuss how brands can create experiences, build programs, and offer solutions that allow brands to deliver on their unique value. 

Method Concepting. HUGE Associate Creative Director Ross Morrison, Creative Director Andy Thomas, and Associate Copywriter Bjorn Larsen will reveal how businesses can get inside the heads of their customers. Ross, Andy and Bjorn will run through the ins and outs of channeling your target audience in order to see the world through consumers’ eyes.

Books Suck: The Future of Writing and Publishing. HUGE Creative Director Andrew Kessler will assess the state of publishing and how the digital ecosystem, social media, and online marketing will destroy, or possibly save, the future of books.  

Your Social Media Job is Dead. Now What? HUGE Product Strategist Angeline Voung will join a panel on the career opportunities for social media specialists, as social becomes a ubiquitous platform that all roles need to be able to manage. 

Screwed Without Bars: Apps for Survival. HUGE Interaction Designer Andrea Dulko will cover the physical human dependency on mobile devices. Andrea will explore existing mobile offerings that target this vulnerability and the apps that have been created to ensure survival.

As part of last year’s festival HUGE’s Associate Creative Director Ross Morrison appeared on the panel “Being Funny on Twitter (Without Getting Fired)” and Creative Director Andrew Kessler hosted a book signing event for the release of his book Martian Summer.
