IT Support Specialist (Medellin) COL.

Job Description.

As an IT Support Specialist you will be the first point of contact for Support customers. You will troubleshoot and resolve first-level desktop system problems and irregularities including identifying issues and determining courses of action for the problem resolution. Assist with installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining PC hardware and software (extra point if you have knowledge or experience working with Macs). Work with kindness and effectively with our peers. You will work with local and external users, vendors and other employees, both in person and remote. We are busy! You will work effectively under pressure and with frequent interruptions. You must be someone patient, proactive and dedicated to your work.

We are looking for candidates who have:

An individual with 5+ years experience working in an IT Support role.

A go-to person for “all things IT or Support” (e.g., troubleshooting a broken scanner that has repeatedly stopped to work, explaining the detailed steps of connecting a computer to VPN or teaching steps to encrypt email to a less tech-savvy individual).

You understand the importance of IT and security best practices.

Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with use of Windows Active Directory, gSuite, Slack, Zoom, Jira, and similar programs.

Manage operating systems such as: Windows, Linux, Mac / Intermediate knowledge in cabling. 

Knowledge of Windows OS, server management and skills to detect network failures such as IP conflicts and DNS issues.

You love people and working with people and enjoy helping team members to work effectively and securely.

You understand the importance of computer systems and applications working effectively to increase productivity.

You can communicate clearly in english, speaking or in written forms of communication such as email, chat, and ticket updates (English Skills: B2 or higher).

A positive approach to problem solving, and an understanding of how to seek solutions and articulate them clearly and concisely

Willing to move to Medellin, Colombia (MUST).
